//THE MARU 2008 AUTUMN/WINTER SWIMWEAR AND EQUIPMENT COLLECTION

Maru Swimwear, the UK's most stylish active swimwear and equipment brand for men, women and children is to launch its new Autumn/Winter 2008 Collection on July 1, 2008 in over 400 UK sports shops, as well as a range of online retailers and health clubs.

Bright new colours, patterns and designs have been introduced throughout the range from Maru’s long-life Pacer suits to its sporty leisure and kids’ swimwear ranges. Thin-strap suits for women continue to be in high demand, while for men the "must-have" trend continues to be 19" & 21" swim shorts. When it comes to kids, sparkle is all the rage for girls and cool dive shorts for boys.

New swim equipment items have also been introduced from top-quality swim bags for active swimmers to a new range of cartoon swim bags and swim hats for kids. Maru has also developed a new technical goggle for professional swimmers called the Techo Racer – an ultra low profile goggle for racing which reduces drag.

AQUA SPORT RANGE

Active swimmers will be delighted with the new Pacer range of Maru suits designed in vibrantly coloured, graphic patterns and also in solid black or pink with contrast piping. These suits are specifically designed to combine performance and style and are manufactured using Pacer - the chlorine resistant, long-life fabric, which also provides UV protection of UPF 50+. Following feedback from customers this range now features a new, medium-leg height. Most popular is the Orient Pacer Vault Back in navy, with a striking red, white and pink pattern. Also new are the Loony Splish Back suits, a thin-strap suit in either pink or orange surf-style print and the Dive Zone Back in flamboyant pink with geometric patterns.

Meanwhile the men’s Aqua Sport collection has been enhanced to include a range of cool jammers with new, improved fit. They include the Pacer Blizz Jammer in black with multi-coloured geometric inset panels, the Dive Jammer in black with vivid pink patterned side panels and the Loony Jammer, also in black with orange and yellow Hawaiian patterned inset panels.

AQUA CLASSIC RANGE

Once again the Aquarius Legged suit is going to be the big winner this season. Introduced last year and aimed at swimming teachers and aqua aerobic enthusiasts, it has been a phenomenal success. This season Maru has produced the suit in contrasting denim and raspberry colours, as a move away from the more classic black and blue tones previously chosen.

Fit and comfort are the top priorities when it comes to designing the Aqua Classic range. New for the Autumn/Winter Season is the Oceanic Suit in black or turquoise with medium leg, bust support and a high back, but providing a younger look with adjustable thin straps and flattering, body-contouring seams. Other popular suits in this collection feature pretty embroidery appliqués or brightly coloured piping which enhance the fit, shape and overall look of the suit.

AQUA LEISURE RANGE

Maru’s stylish Aqua Leisure range looks great and is ideal for pool or beach swimming. The collection includes both one-piece suits (halter-neck) and two-piece tankinis in black or a bright raspberry pink, sporting a pretty embossed silver flower pattern; while the more sporty Lucy Tankini comes in two colour tones of raspberry and purple or navy and lime with a sporty-back design, bust support and short-style pants.

The longer look continues as the predominant trend for men’s swim shorts and Maru’s leisure range includes a variety of stylish swim shorts and cool board shorts in varying lengths (17”, 19” & 21”) colours and styles. Manufactured in a quick-drying, peached Tactel fabric this range is a popular one. Brand new for this season is the Maritime Short in black featuring drainer side pockets to eliminate ballooning, a zipped back pocket and stylish red inset panel below the waist band at the back. Also new is the 19”and 21” Suncoast Short in blue or black with eye-catching graphic prints, piping details and zipped side pocket with drainer.

AQUA KIDS RANGE

Sparkle costumes have proved to be the outright winners this year and Maru’s Autumn/Winter collection for girls features two new contrasting sparkle, designs from the Bengal Square Back – a multicoloured tiger skin pattern to the Freaky Rave Back in red or turquoise with a paint splash design. The Disc Rave Back in turquoise with yellow, red and pink concentric circles is also set to be very popular. New for boys are sought after Lycra Dive Shorts and peached Tactel water shorts including the new Regatta and Sun Coast print shorts (16”) with drainer pockets.

MARU SWIM EQUIPMENT

Building on the success of its current range of high-quality swim equipment, Maru has introduced a new collection of Bubble swim bags (back pack and grip bags) with large internal wet pockets, designed specifically for swimmers. For professional swimmers there is the new Techno Racer Anti-Fog – Pro Goggle, an ultra low profile racing goggle with hydrodynamic lens design, complete with three nose bridges; while for kids Maru has introduced Funky Fish Swim Bags and a range of fun Silicone Kids Fun Hats in crazy shark and dolphin designs.
